Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others,
as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms. 1 Peter 4:10

Why Community Service?

Life-giving community and transforming discipleship are two of the pillars of FCA. Our goal is for our students to become active members of our community and create a positive impact in our society. The Student Community Service (SCS) is an academic requirement to be fulfilled by all high school students during their four years of study. Every year the students will be required to pursue 15 (fifteen) hours of community service/volunteer work.

Important Dates

Hours will be computed starting on August 21, 2023 (the first day of classes) and will end on April 30, 2024. If a student provided service over the summer (June/July), (like missionary trips or others) those community service hours can be included with proper documentation. Also, only a max of 10 hours from the same organization will count towards the 15-hour requirement.

Where do I start?

Submitting Hours

The supervisor will compute and submit your hours using the QR code below or by filling out the online form found here.

If a physical form is needed, please have them complete this form and email it to Mrs. Lee at llee@franklinchristianacademy.org.

Please ask the supervisor to complete the form at the end of every day of work.

ATTENTION: Only forms from the verified supervisor's email will be accepted.

*GraceWorks Ministries has its own way of entering hours. Check the instructions on the List of Approved Organizations.

*Churches: You will not find contact information of churches on the List of Approved Organizations. The reason is one and only one: the amount of service departments a church has. The person who enters your hours MUST have an organizational email from the church in question. Example: soandso@gatewayfranklin.com. Some exceptions can be made. Talk to Mrs. Lee if the church you serve doesn't have organizational emails.

How can I check my hours?

FAQ

During the academic year 2023/2024 each High School student will have to complete 15 (fifteen) hours of community service. The current freshman class will have a minimum of 60 (sixty) hours completed by graduation.

We encourage our students to use the approved list of organizations. If your hours come from an email that we don't recognize, your hours will be under verification. We will evaluate if we can accept it or not.

Every organization has a different way of reporting hours. The approved list of organizations will include all necessary information. If you still have questions, please email Mrs Lee at llee@franklinchristianacademy.org

You are responsible for checking the minimum age requirement to perform community service in the organization that you choose. Most organizations require the student under 16 years old to be accompanied by parent or guardian, or sign a waiver.

It's a special recognition that will be included on the student's final high school transcript. To receive this recognition a student needs to achieve 25 hours or more of community service in each academic year.
